Shelter in Mexico and North America. Prodensa, your strategic partner.

When setting up a manufacturing operation in Mexico, there are different options that can be pursued, each option associated with its own implications and liabilities. If the decision of the foreign manufacturer is to have a Self-Controlled operation (not contract manufacturing), where you are able to control the production process and quality of the finished products, the option of shelter in Mexico represents the most efficient, competitive and safest way to start your operation.

The option of shelter in Mexico is a program that is regulated by the Mexican Federal Government, which allows foreign manufacturers to have operations in Mexico, through a third party; that is, that the Mexican legal entity belongs to the shelter operator (Prodensa). This way, the Mexican operation is “sheltered” from risks of operating in an unknown environment.

Given that Prodensa, as the operator of shelter in Mexico, would be the legal owner and representative of the newly incorporated Mexican entity, which is exclusive for each customer, the shelter operator absorbs all risks and liabilities of the Mexican entity, so it is in our best interest of the shelter operator to have that entity always in full and strict compliance with all regulations that apply to each specific customers’ operation.
